Advice
JPF Software offers advice in ICT projects as well as projectmanagement. We operate either on location, through face to face contact with one of your consultants, or by phone or e-mail. Depending on your needs, we select the software solution that best suits you. We are well experienced in: ICT and goverment, information architecture, Open Source software, (IT) standards, security and performance optimization.
IT architecture
In larger projects and projects where multiple organisations work together, we work using a shared IT architecture design. Such a design promotes working together, structured work, gives the opportunity to discuss the important details at the start of the project, and helps to find bottlenecks and difficult decisions at an early stage of the project. We make use of Archimate as modelling language.
Open Source software
The use of Open Source software in a project or in an organisation, or the development and publishing of software with an Open Source license can raise questions.
What does it mean for your project when you use a library with a GPL v2, GPL v3, LGPL or Apache license? Is it possible to use different libraries with different licenses
together? Is it possible to include Open Source software as a demand in a tender? But also: does Open Source software exist that can replace my current commercial software?
We can answer these questions for you.
ICT and (Dutch) Government
Government IT projects are almost always inherently complex, because of the many considerations other than core IT. To give a few examples: A lot of projects are focussed on collaborations
between goverment agencies. Both outsourcing IT development (through public tenders) and in-house developement by government agencies are bound by rules to ensure
fair and unbiased tender, and besides the rules there are quite a few guidelines for implementing software with a "comply or explain" regime. There are reference architectures to take into account,
existing data formats, a question of ownership (who develops the software, who maintains the software, who supports the users, who keeps the servers running, who pays the bills, etc).
We have experience operating in such an environment, we know the importance of making sure all the information is available at the right time so decisions can be made.
To make sure that policically sensitive subjects are signalled quickly.
